Job Summary

Cloud Engineering Intern – Join our dynamic Cloud Engineering team at Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield as an Intern for the summer of 2024. As an intern, you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of cloud engineering within the healthcare industry. Our team leverages a variety of cutting-edge technologies providing the opportunity to gain proficiency with core cloud services. You'll learn the basic components of Azure used by the company and will deploy an application to the cloud during your tenure. You'll also finish your internship with an understanding of cloud security best practices by learning the shared responsibility model for cloud security and will configure security settings for a cloud service (such as setting up IAM policies, security groups, etc.). The internship also covers other critical skills needed for the competitive job market including developing automation skills with IaC tools, participating in a Cloud-related project for the enterprise, learning cloud-native development practices, understanding performance optimization and cost management practices, documenting and drafting configuration management runbooks, and developing soft-skills for professional development. This internship will provide you with valuable exposure to Cloud technologies and the chance to make a real impact on the healthcare insurance landscape. We're looking for highly motivated, detail-oriented individuals with a passion for the future of cloud.

Through hands-on relevant work experience, the internship program will allow the student or graduate to learn the business of Arkansas Blue Cross.

Interns will receive professional coaching and participate in team building exercises. Weekly leadership forums are required where the intern will participate in open discussions regarding the corporate business and culture

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Intern I
1. Sophomore year in college (At least 30 credit hours but fewer than 60 credit hours).
2. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3. A minimum of 6.0 college credit hours in one of the requested disciplines.
4. Intern must live in Arkansas during the internship program (Relocation expense will not be paid.)

Intern II
1. Junior year in college (At least 60 credit hours but fewer than 90 credit hours).
2. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3. A minimum of 12.0 college credit hours in one of the requested disciplines.
4. Intern must live in Arkansas during the internship program (Relocation expense will not be paid.)

Intern III
1. Senior year in college (At least 90 credit hours).
2. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3. A minimum of 18.0 college credit hours in one of the requested disciplines.
4. Intern must live in Arkansas during the internship program (Relocation expense will not be paid.)

Intern IV
1. Bachelor’s degree in requested discipline or a related degree if applicable
2. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
4. Intern must live in Arkansas during the internship program (Relocation expense will not be paid.)
